THE 'RIGHT' TIME...

When is it the right time to do anything at all? Is there any such thing as the 'right' time? If there is then is there like a 'right' time for every thing and is it different for different things? We are often in a dilemma over when it's the right time to do something or the other. Should we call a friend or sms now or later or maybe some other day? Should we apply for the course this year or wait another year? Should we tell our friend about what has been bugging us about him/her all this while? Should I quit now even though I have nothing in hand as of now or should I get something going and then leave? Should I convey my love or maybe perhaps give it a little more time and get to know the person?

I doubt if there ever is the right time to do or say anything at all. It is only when we have done or said some things and they have proved rewarding that we believe it was the right time to have done those very things. Our mind registers our actions and what all occurred en route to their success. Perhaps that's how we form the probability of a thing being right for us or not given identical circumstances in the future again. I believe it's more to do with our gut feeling. It doesn't necessarily have to be the feeling in our hearts that tells us this is the right time, the right moment and the right thing to do. For even with all the heart-speak, there are times when we lack in confidence and have nervous-feeling about the things. So, in these moments it is what we decide to do at that particular moment, the gut feeling inside of us, which makes us do those things.

But there's nothing like a well-aligned heart, mind and the instinct, all saying it is the right thing and the right time to do it. Then the decision have a sure-shot chance of being the 'right' one for that moment. Why for that moment only? Because I believe there can never be an absolute 'right' or 'wrong' thing. Several factors influence the 'rightness' or 'wrongness' of a thing. Whether it is the socially or universally unacceptable or the morally incorrect or against humanity or whatever, there are many things that decide what is right and what is wrong. It is never a single thing. For every individual is different and their thought-process, their environment at home or at work, the circumstances are different. So, with different situation and different times, something that is 'right' may seem completely 'wrong' too.

The point is, no matter what it is, it all comes down to the individual level. So, it is only you and you only who knows if it is the 'right' time for you to do what you feel is 'right' to you. After that, you have to take up responsibility for it whether it turns out 'right' or 'wrong' later on. Stand up to it and never look back. It's like the line from Tokyo Drift, 'You make choices in your life and never look back'.

  1. nice one! but there's much more still left two write than guts or the theory of perhaps.. sometimes, you are over both the things, n still besides right or wrong, you hold it!!

check out my next post:- the next level! ;)

  2. n moreover, sometimes "how do i do that" isnt much of a trouble.. neither is "should i really do that or wait".. nor even the "what if" stuff..

but maybe a feeling of keeping monalisa like monalisa, no changes, no modifications, no reasons.. not even the fear of messing her face up! ;)

  3. in that case.. one is at a good position somehow for the person is not desiring any changes or modifications to his/her life.. thus it's process that takes care of itself.. like the steps which follow the first one...

only dilemma if any would have been at the moment of the first step...

this is perhaps the best way to live, I believe... have all the doubts and questions in the beginning but once it's decided to just keep on going ahead..

then again... one would be a fool to live a life contrary to what one had set out in the beginning even after the realisation sets in that one is heading towards the wrong place... as it is said, a stitch in time saves nine... but one is certain that whether it's a single stitch or nine.. the fabric doesn't remain as smooth as before.. some things get changed..

  4. yeah.. things surely change.. true!
but you can still stay in the pool for as long as you feel like, till either you catch cold (n you have to get out for your own good) or just till all the water evaporates (and u are out because the pool empties).. u can stay without sinking.. even if there's a rapid urge to get out, you can still manage ur rashes n stay..

and at that point, nothing else matters, when you got in, or when's the time to get out, when should you log your perfect swim and call it a day! maybe just floating in the lazy river sometimes is all you wish for..

and yeah, it is surely person to person, so true again.. right or wrong to anyone is when you go through that kinda algorithm.. n right time or wrong only matters if you look at the watch! its like one of those high slides into a pool in which till last minute u feel like dropping the idea of sliding completely, but racing through water you dont analyze the pool depth or even the speed but just feel it.. for some seconds its surely hard to breathe without screaming but still you cheer your heart out, no matter how much ur eyeballs react!

and at such a speed, right moment or wrong is out of question.. as its just the moment! yes, it is itchy to think about right or wrong for an instance, whether to scream or not, but you, sometimes, have no more time than that.. :)

  5. Dear Rex,

A well-thought through post! Actually, the right time is the now of our gut feeling. Sometimes, one may wait forever to do something and live to regret it for the rest of his/her life. I have walked down that road many times and have learnt to live for the moment and to seize the day.

Take care...Sorry about the late response. Have been very busy and a bit under the weather.

Have a good week and God bless you.

    cheers
